255 Year Old Dunham Line Discovered

255 Year Old Dunham Line Discovered

With amazement I saw a name, and then another – it was the name of his father and that of his mother

With that line, my three-year search to connect the Dunham family name to a Mayflower Pilgrim was practically over – nothing was left but to submit my documents to the Mayflower Society.

This blog is a part of my Mayflower Ancestry genealogical website.  I have placed some information into this blog to “wet the whistle” of any would-be genealogist out there who may be trying to either find a Dunham / Mayflower connection or to connect with those would might be related to you.  My four years of research, consisting of over 2 years of 6-10 hour research days may be reflective of what you are “in for” should you be attempting a Mayflower ancestry certification – however, mileage may vary as you may have information from parents, grandparents, etc.  I had very little to go on other than a handful of names and the vague ideas from my mother that we had a possible Mayflower history.  There are many who say “yeah, we’re all descendants”, well that’s not true, and unless you are certified, you can’t claim to be a descendant with certainty.

The most often asked question I receive is, “can I access your Mayflower Certified Dunham Ancestry tree?”, unfortunately I will have to say “no” and recommend that you wholeheartedly research your own ancestry – it’s well worth it!!!
