Recovered Treasures

In June of 2015, I was browsing Ebay and found for sale a Mayflower Society  - John Alden descendancy record.  This record was the complete approved & certified packet, including the descendancy line documentation, the certificate, and other assorted Mayflower correspondence.  I was disappointed that anyone would sell these treasured documents and wondered what the reason was for disposing such a personally cherrished family historical record.  From what I can tell, they have no further living descendants.

Without presenting great detail, I will say that I took a day and researched this member of the Maine Society of Mayflower Descendants.  The following information is provided.  If you can prove that you are related to this person and would like to recover these original documents, please contact us at:

Member's name:  Jean Patricia (Mitchell) Wallace

1.  Jean Mitchell was the daughter of Ivan Wilbur Mitchell (1899 - 1978) and Grace Muriel Fitzpatrick Mitchell (1901 - 1995).  Jean was born November 14, 1922 in Waterville, Maine1. 

2.  On 23 May 1942, Jean married Ronald H Wallace in Maine (town unlisted in index files).

3.  Jean Patricial (Mitchell) Wallace passed away on August. 17, 1999 in Maine and was buried at the Maplewood Cemetery, Fairfield, Somerset County, Maine, USA.

Jean had one daughter with Ronald H. Wallace, her name was Pamela Marie Wallace (1947 - 2008)2. Pamela died in Williamsburg, VA3 and is also buried at Maplewood Cemetery, Fairfield, Somerset County, Maine, USA2.

According to the Daily Press (online directory) obituary article4, Pamela may have had a daughter (see below):

"Pamela Wallace
February 11, 2008
Pamela Marie Wallace died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008. She will be greatly missed by her daughter and many friends. No services are planned at this time. Arrangements by Nelsen Funeral Home in Williamsburg."

UPDATE (NOVEMBER 2020):

While browsing the internet I found the following family connections:

In Linda's obituary it states that she passed away on 6 April 2019 at age 74.  She is survived by her son Ryan; and a sister Debra.  She is pre-deceased by her father Ron; mother Jean; and sister Pamela.  This is good news about relatives and I will attempt to contact either Ryan or Debra, likely Debra at first.
